I love the Illinois State Fair in Springfield, Illinois and we have been there many times thanks to our son’s 4-H efforts as a wee lad. On those trips each of us had a fair favorite – Keith loved the “arena” events (former FFA fellow here), Brian loved the conservation area with its activities and displays, I loved the craft and needle art exhibits - we all loved the music, animals, the food, the merchant hall, and spending time together as a family.

As I write this, it is August and state fair time again in Illinois and that got me to thinking about the multitude of men and women, past and present, who entered their textile items in the fair. This is for them.
